You know, I can appreciate many aspects of Quentin Tarantino's work in his films, but sometimes, they way he treats his black characters makes me want to punch him in the face. I was watching Pulp Fiction and Quentin Tarantino's character has a black wife, a black friend, and has the nerve to ask Jules if he has a "Dead Nigger Sign" out on the front lawn, but the moment Mr. Wolf comes in, he's in line, even calling him Mr. Wolf until he's given the permission to say otherwise. I get Jules' situation in having to keep the peace or be fucked, but I can't imagine it's the first time he's stepped out of line with his language. I can't imagine a character like that truly being in love with a woman of color unless her mentality ran along the line of friggin' Stacey Dash...*drinks beer*
You may feel different, but sometimes, I want to punch him in the nuts. You can easily dislike someone but still find value in their work at times.
Reviewing movies. I tried to go to once a week, but I think it's best if I post whenever. Right?
